I have been faced with people who oppose my opinion about Howard University’s administration.
Opposing view: Many have stated that we, the students of Howard University, should simply be patient.
The problem with that is how long should we have to wait until our problem is solved?
Should we wait until the deadline for them to validate us even though we should have been validated in the beginning of the semester? Should we wait until they fail to use our financial aid so that we are purged and then speak up about it?
We will always lose playing the waiting game with Howard University’s administration. The more you wait, the less likely your problem will be solved.
Opposing view 2: It is the student’s fault for not taking care of their business.
This can be a very valid view. However, in my case and the many other cases I have heard from other students, this view is void. Students have gone from the depths of the sea to the top of the sky to get their situation taken care of. From being switched to everyone in the office to no one having the accurate information to handle the problem, it is the administration that is failing at taking care of their business.
A relationship cannot work if only one party is doing all the work while the other is slacking off. Both parties need to see eye to eye and work together to solve the problem. Once the administration learns how to be on their job as they are paid to be, problems will soon cease.
